if you bring newf …
if you bring newf puppy home and introduce him to a cat and if a cat will accept him they’ll be friends for life.. but if that cat attacks a little newfy he’ll be scared for life and he’ll hate ‘em all. that’s how newfies are. if someone is nice to them they will return that niceness 100x more.

There’s a video on youtube about a lady who has trained her newfy max, to be a service dog because she suffers from anxiety – check out the video!
The good thing about newfs is that they are so eager to please you that they will pretty much learn anything, so i’m sure you could train a newf to be a hearing dog.

Our Newfie is great …
Our Newfie is great with cats – he is very popular in the neighbourhood since he is so gentle and friendly. There are several cats that know Sam and will come up to him nose-to-nose, and one has been known to rub up against him. If you introduce a puppy to your two cats, the Newfie should be fine with them. I’m not sure if one would be helpful with your impaired hearing – but they are trainable, so you’ll be happy. They are so friendly.
