RNC Release Video of Armed Robbery Suspects

(ST. JOHN’S), January 17, 2012 — The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit is requesting the assistance of the general public in identifying the persons responsible for an armed robbery in Conception Bay South and an attempted armed robbery Mount Pearl, NL.

On January 11, 2012 at approximately 3:30 am, RNC Patrol Officers responded to an armed robbery at Irving Service Station in Manuals, CBS. Two female suspects entered the store armed with a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene. Both females had their faces concealed during the armed robbery. RNC Criminal investigators believe that these same two females and a third person were also involved in an attempted armed robbery at Ches’ Restaurant on Commonwealth Avenue in Mount Pearl two hours earlier. There were no injuries sustained during either incident.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the two female suspects or the unidentified male from the Irving armed robbery, who is a person of interest in these investigations, is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). I am 19 years old and am a part time dog groomer while I go to school. A few months ago I was bathing a dog that got rowdy and the dog flung me into a wall. Now let me saw this was about a 200 lb. Newfoundland. I do have a preexisting wrist condition that I had surgery on last year and I got re-injured because of this scene to the point where I need another, more extensive and more serious surgery to correct it in which I won’t have full mobility of my wrist for 5 years and it’s my dominant hand. My employer hired me with the knowledge of my condition because I stated it in the interview and I was told that I would be accommodated while I worked. Now I am being denied workers comp because it was a preexisting condition. Can they do that? Can I fight this? I really need help, this surgery’s expensive and even with my insurance we still need to pay a good portion of it.

You need an attorney that specializes in Workers Comp cases. The denial was made by the WC board, not the employer. The board may have made the judgement that the injury would not have occurred had you not had an already weakened wrist. The attorney will need to provide expert opinion to the contrary.
