Where can I find a stature of a newfoundland dog?

Filed under: Newfoundland — admin @ 6:15 am

I have three other dogs and I have a small/medium sized statue for each of them. (Just a small representation of the breed.) Does anybody know where to find one of a newfoundland? About a foot tall?

You can find one on ebay or just Google Newfoundland statue for retailers. You can also usually get them at dog shows from the vendors.

Architecture, TV Ad, Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism (HQ)

0 Architecture, TV Ad, Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism (HQ)In a world oddly bent on conformity. Theres something strangely encouraging about a place thats anything but.

One of the best examples of Newfoundland and Labradors creativity can be found in the unique architecture throughout the province. Its a demonstration of how distinctive and old this place is (St. Johns was first settled 500 years ago and is one of the oldest cities in North America). Exploring this warm and culturally rich place, youll marvel at the defiance of typical engineering logic, expressed by jellybean row houses lining steep hills, and homes and fishing wharfs clinging to rocky cliffs.

The Edge, TV Ad, Newfoundland and Labrador (HQ)

0 The Edge, TV Ad, Newfoundland and Labrador (HQ)The people of the Flat Earth Society believe that this place is one of the four corners of the world; the very edge of the earth.

Nowhere in the world looks like Newfoundland and Labrador the most easterly point of North America, perched on the edge of a continent. This chapter evokes the strange and terrible beauty of our landscape and seascape, in stark contrast to the typical, Photoshopped and plastic images found in most tourism advertising.

How would a newfoundland behave with a new family?

Filed under: Newfoundland — admin @ 1:16 pm

A friend of my brother is loosing his house and has a Newfoundland that he can no longer keep. I would like to take care of the dog, but I heard that they are a one family dog and wont bond with a new family. I was wondering if this is true and if so, is it true for all the dogs of this breed. Also, the dog is three years old
Side note: I own a husky so I get plenty of running in every day

It’s not true. A newfie with the correct temperament for the breed will easily learn to bond with a new family.

Before deciding to take this dog, you need to make sure you have the room, time to commit to grooming, exercising and training and the money to provide both good food and vet care for the rest of this dog’s life. This is a giant breed of dog that drools and sheds a lot, eats a lot and will need to have its training kept up with.

On the plus side, well bred newfies are absolutely awesome dogs in the right home and great with kids.

Blog: Serpentine River, Newfoundland & Labrador

0 Blog: Serpentine River, Newfoundland & LabradorBy Peter Bull, Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism:

I took a trip to the Serpentine River this summer with friends Ray and Cyndie Humber who are also owners of NewFoundoutfitting. I have always looked at maps of Newfoundland and Labrador and dreamed of visiting this part of the province. The Serpentine is located between Blow-Me-Down Mountain and the Louis Hills. Louis Hill is the highest point on the island portion of the Province at 815m. Ray and I had a fantastic day salmon fishing. Early in the morning, a cow moose walked up to us, watched us fish for a while and then nonchalantly walking off into the alders. We also saw two great blue herons, an uncommon sight on the Island. Ray cooked up a delicious shore lunch, the memory of which will last a lifetime. I managed to hook (and lose) a salmon and a grilse. Before spitting out my dry fly, both fish gave me shots of adrenalin with their spectacular jumping abilities. I will have to go back again to see if I can actually land a Serpentine salmon.
