How much would it cost to ship a 46" LCD television to Newfoundland from Alberta?

Filed under: Newfoundland — admin @ 7:00 am

I’m currently living in Fort Mcmurray, Alberta. I’ll be moving to Newfoundland soon and I want to bring my 46" sony with me but I can’t bring it on the plane. I was just wondering how much it would cost to ship such a large package via mail. Thanks.

You are moving and all you want to bring is your TV? You don’t have any furniture, family heirlooms, or other items to bring with you?

If you do have more than just the TV, your best bet would be to get a company to drop off a small cargo container, you put all the stuff you want moved into it, then they load that onto a truck or on a train, and it gets carried across country to your new home.

On the other hand, if it is JUST the TV, you can have that shipped by courier or by Canada Post. You would want to package that up very well and mark fragile on it, and you probably want to have the shipment insured in case they break it or it doesn’t work when it arrives in Newfoundland.

Shipping parcels like that are based on their weight and their size. You therefore have two things going against you, since the TV is probably pretty heavy, and an awkward shape. That is going to be an expensive shipment…I’d be willing to bet a few hundred dollars.

Go onto Canada Post or UPS/Purolator/FedEx websites and punch in the weight and the size you expect, and they will give you a rough estimate on the costs.

It may be less of a hassle to simply sell the TV (eBay?) to someone in the Fort McMurray/Edmonton area and buy a new one (with free delivery) when you get to Newfoundland.

Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism TV Ad: Clothesline

2 Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism TV Ad: ClotheslineAround every corner, around every turn, youre reminded, that around here, not every work of art hangs on a wall. http://www.Newfoundlandlabrador.com

The iconic colourful clothesline has become a metaphor for some of the best things this place has to offer. An abundance of fresh, clean air, a wide-open, unspoiled natural environment, and a unique culture and creativity. This is all summed up by simple images like a line of fishermans gloves dancing in the wind, or a beautiful handmade quilt airing in the breeze.

Hello Mom and Dad – A. Frank Willis

2 Hello Mom and Dad A. Frank WillisA. Frank Willis, from Dover, Newfoundland, is known as the
One-Man Band From Newfoundland. He is a virtual legend on
the Canadian east coast music scene and is well recognized
as one of Canada’s most uniquely talented and engaging
performers. He launched his one-man show in 1975, and
became an overnight sensation, simultaneously playing
bass pedals with his left foot, chord organ with his right
foot, and a harmonica clamped in a holder, all while his
hands alternated between a guitar and mandolin strapped
in front of him. He frequently pulled the accordion, banjo,
and a kazoo into the performance just for good measure.

How old should my Newfoundland be to breed?

Filed under: Newfoundland — admin @ 7:44 pm

I was wondering what’s a good age that a Newfoundland male be old to breed. What would happen if I bred to a female of age when he was only 9 months old?
Thank you for your answers. I’m not actually going to breed my dog, I was just wondering what would happen if I did at this age. Sorry to make your lives miserable.
Thanks for the help. I’ll definatley get around to doing that. Right now he’s a good and healthy pup :)

Please don’t breed your dog just because you can. There are so many unwanted puppies, and adding to that is not something you should do. Unless there is something phenomenal your dog can add to the Newfie breed, please have him neutered.

Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism TV Ad: The Edge

2 Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism TV Ad: The EdgeThe people of the Flat Earth Society believe that this place is one of the four corners of the world; the very edge of the earth. http://www.Newfoundlandlabrador.com

Nowhere in the world looks like Newfoundland and Labrador the most easterly point of North America, perched on the edge of a continent. This chapter evokes the strange and terrible beauty of our landscape and seascape, in stark contrast to the typical, Photoshopped and plastic images found in most tourism advertising.

Getting a Flat Tyre in Newfoundland (Raw Clips)

2 Getting a Flat Tyre in Newfoundland (Raw Clips)Mostly raw clips from the time when I got a flat tyre in Newfoundland and had to have a guy come and fix it…. note the scene that’s deliberately staged for comical reasons.

Note my left eye is bruised.. I’d hit it with my winch poll the evening before during the storm.
