I live in Yorkshire (that’s England, by the way) and would like to go camping with my bf and my 2 dogs at whit. We don’t have any particular destination in mind and are happy to drive for a few hours if necessary to get to somewhere worthwhile. We want somewhere with a bit of peace and quiet where our (well behaved) rottweiller cross and Newfoundland will be welcome. We like nature and history/culture. We haven’t camped since we were kids so suggestions would be very welcome.
Thanks!
If you don’t mind driving down south to The New Forest, then I can thoroughly recommend ‘The Red Shoot’. It is a ‘gastro’ pub with a campsite attached. It is in the heart of the New Forest near Fordingbridge and Ringwood. The food is excellent, Steak and Ale Pie, Stuffed Mushrooms, Steaks etc. Dogs are allowed to sit at the dining table and there is a playpark for the kids. There is so much to see in the New Forest, not least of which are the Ponies and Deer. A lovely, lovely place.

can anyone suggest a good campsite?
What should I do with him?
During the summers (here in lovely Canada) I work in middle management at a local amusement park. We pay to bring in people from all over the world for seasonal employment. We brought in one guy from Newfoundland (where I’m originally from) and we hit it off despite the six year age difference (17, 23). It started off as a strictly sexual relationship but then spiralled into something different. I’ve fallen for him so hard, and I miss him now that he’s gone back home. The only problem is that he’s into the swinging scene, which I’m not down with.
I’m going back to Newfoundland in March and he’s insisted I stay with him while I’m there. Should I tell him straight up that I want a relationship when I see him or should I move on to someone who’ll commit to me?
I think you should go for something that is closer to where you’ll be living permanently & something more stable. You won’t be able to change his ways & if you do, you’ll be so far away after a while that he may fall back into his lifestyle once more. Good luck no matter what <3.
What actions are being taken to help the collapse of cod because of overfishing in newfoundland?
Im doing a project on overfishing in the grand banks of Newfoundland. I heard Greenpeace is trying to do something? But what exactly are they doing to help get the cod back? Please help! Be detailed!
The Grand Banks cod fishery collapsed due to over fishing. Greenpeace did nothing to stop that. It happened due to lack of science and information. Now the fishery is completely shut down and that’s the only way it will come back. Mother nature will recover, it’s just a matter of time. And nothing that Greenpeace does will change that.

Here is the music I wrote for Newfoundland Tourism’s promotional video for Gros Morne National Park. Once again, I’d like to thank Aidan Mason for the wonderful guitar playing and melodic inspiration.

St Johns Newfoundland?
Why are you not asking more questions on this site. How is it that we are to know of your culture. I use to visit Harbor Grace for many years & found your region quite interesting,. What gives?
How do you know they are not asking questions?
I’ve lived on the Rock (my grandma was from there, too), and the only way to really appreciate it is to spend time there, in my opinion.
What does this tourism report excerpt mean?
I was going through a 2009 tourism report today and I saw this:
"The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has also compiled and will be advancing 10 torchbearers who are individuals representing various aspects of Newfoundland and Labrador for consideration to make up the province’s complement."
—This segment is in relation to the Vancouver 2010 torch relay—
Thanks for the help! =)
I saw the first answer, I don’t think that’s it. They already have 330 torchbearers chosen for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The majority of the torch bearers were selected more or less through a draw. Some spots were reserved for the corporate sponsors, and some were reserved for the selection of government and other agencies.
The segment indicates the government put forward 10 people they wanted to recognize through the torch relay. I can’t find the actual list, but it likely includes folks that would be considered outstanding citizens.
Must Love Dogs? Dog Breed?
I know the dog Mother T. was a Newfoundland but in one of the scenes with John Cusack there is a little white dog, I was wondering if anyone knows what breed of dog that was.
Any help would be great- thanks!

Dog park action
Sarah brings Mother Theresa to meet Jake for their first blind date at a dog park. Jake, meanwhile, borrowed a friend’s West Highland White Terrier for the occasion. Mother Theresa hides under the park bench when Jake comes over and shows off Bruno’s ability to play dead. For this action, the trainer first cued Molly onto the bench and put her in a down-stay position with her head on the actress’s lap. Later, the handler directed Molly to go under the bench and lie down. Another trainer placed Bruno in a sit-stay and verbally cued the Westie from off-camera to flop over and lie still as the actor delivered his dialog.
